Optical Cable Technology or OCT manufactures innovative optical fibre cables for a wide variety of industries with over 25 years of manufacturing and R&D experience. OCT was formerly known as FORT and FORT S.A. was established in 1983 in Dourdan, about 50km south of Paris, France. Prior to that, its founder Mr François Fort, had already developed FORT's unique fibre optic technology in the mid 70's.

With its vast experience in dry technology, easy strip construction and reduced diameter cables plus its patented processes, OCT is able to manufacture optical fibre cables for the most challenging environment. (Please refer to OCT customer list.)

OCT has been the product leader in the optical cable industry for dry waterproof fibre cables, chemical resistant and non-metallic armoured cables since the early 90's. It is also the pioneer in high temperature flame retardant low smoke halogen free optical fibre cables. All such cables supplied by OCT meet IEC60332-1, IEC60332-3-24, IEC60754-1, IEC60754-2 and IEC61034-2, These tests were certified by Laboratoire Central des Industries Electriques (France), Warrington Fire Research Centre Ltd (UK), Building Research Establishment Ltd (UK) and PSB Corp (Singapore).

Products are supplied from Dourdan's base manufacturing plant as well as its OEM partner's world-class plants in Asia to worldwide market with direct customer support and services from its affiliated companies in France, Belgium, Singapore, Brazil and Africa.
